Dr. Mark Brian Anderson brings over 20 years of experience
in small molecule drug discovery and preclinical development with both large
and small pharmaceutical companies. He began my career in Cardiovascular Science in a subsidiary of Ligand Pharmaceuticals,
after which he moved to Pfizer, where he was a part of the team that drove women’s health specializing in
hormone dependent cancers and oncology. He then moved on to Myriad Pharmaceuticals as the Vice President of Research
& Development where he drove several drugs to the clinic in the area of oncology, neurodegeneration, infectious disease and
wound healing.
While consulting, Dr. Mark Brian Anderson was appointed Scientific Director and Chief
Scientific Officer in the US for a small Biotech in the San Francisco Bay Area working in the area of infectious disease,
wound healing and women’s health. He was instrumental in working out the production formulations issues as a formulations
consultant with respect to the products moving through the clinic and developed clinical protocol design for the lead
drug candidates and medical devices. His specialty as a scientific consultant and formulations consultant is with gels,
tablets and injectables. Dr Anderson has many years of working in regulatory compliance as drug candidates and medical devices
move through the clinic. Over the course of his career, Dr. Anderson has significantly contributed in
moving 21 compounds into preclinical development and has been on both sides of major collaborations between Big Pharma and
Biotech both as a biotech consultant and corporate leader.
Dr. Anderson works very well on both sides of the industry
in research and manufacturing. Dr Anderson has an extensive background working as a scientific consultant, formulations
consultant in many phases of discovery, development and manufacturing, he works well on regulatory compliance issues and is
effective in clinical protocol design. Dr. Mark Brian Anderson has worked as a biotech consultant and as a
corporate leader for many companies throughout his career. His expertise is in drug development, medical devices and translational
medicine. His area of expertise is expansive and most recently includes infectious disease, oncology, wound healing
and oncology in women's health.
Dr. Mark Brian Anderson received his Ph.D. in Chemistry of Natural Products from Purdue
University and was awarded a three year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Chemical Biology with Harvard University and received his
certification in Clinical Pathology with the University of Massachusetts.
